Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
Folk & Floss (“we”, “us”) designs original counted cross-stitch patterns and sells them as instant digital downloads through our Etsy shop at etsy.com/shop/FolkAndFloss.
This policy covers this website and Folk & Floss Pin Pipeline, our internal tool for publishing to our own Pinterest account.
2. Folk & Floss Pin Pipeline
Pin Pipeline is a private, single-user tool. It is not a product, it is not offered to anyone else, and it has no users other than the operator of Folk & Floss.
It does exactly three things, all against our own Pinterest account:
- publishes and schedules Pins of our own cross-stitch artwork to our own boards;
- reads back our own performance data — impressions, saves and link clicks — so we can tell which designs are worth pinning again;
- reads our own board list, so a Pin is filed to the right board.
It never accesses other Pinterest users’ Pins, boards, profiles or data. It accesses only the account that authenticated it, which is ours.
3. Data the tool handles, and where it lives

Nothing is stored on a server we run. There is no database, no user accounts and no login on this website.
4. This website
This website is a set of static pages. It does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. It has exactly one form: the email signup on our free-pattern page, which is provided by EmailOctopus and loads a small script from their servers on that page only — the script powers the signup form and nothing else. If you choose to leave your email address there, we use it to send you the free pattern and our occasional studio notes — nothing else. Signup is double opt-in: nothing is sent until you confirm from your own inbox, and every email we send includes an unsubscribe link that works immediately. Beyond that, we do not collect personal information from visitors.
Our hosting provider (Amazon Web Services) processes standard technical request logs, such as IP addresses and timestamps, as an ordinary part of serving a website. We do not use these logs to identify individuals.
5. Sharing
The signup form and our mailing list are run by EmailOctopus, the email service that stores our subscriber list and sends our emails. If you sign up, your email address and your confirmation are held there under EmailOctopus’s own privacy policy.
Beyond that, we do not sell, rent, trade or share data with third parties. There are no advertising networks, no data brokers and no analytics vendors.
Purchases happen on Etsy, under Etsy’s own privacy policy — we never see your payment details.
6. Retention, access and deletion
Locally held data is kept only as long as it is useful for scheduling and reviewing our own Pins, and is deleted on request.
Revoking Folk & Floss Pin Pipeline in your Pinterest account settings terminates its access immediately. Since the only account it can act on is ours, this affects no one else.
Unsubscribing removes you from our mailing list. To have your address erased from Kit entirely, use the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or write to us.
To ask what we hold, or to have it deleted, contact us at hello@folkandfloss.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.
7. Children
Our patterns and this website are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
8. Changes
We will update this page and revise the date above when this policy changes. Material changes will be described here rather than made silently.
30 July 2026 — the site gained its first form: the email signup on the free-pattern page. §4 and §5 were rewritten to describe it and to name EmailOctopus, the email service that processes signups.
